Mr. Noah Hochman is the Co-Chief Investment Officer & Head of Capital Markets for TruAmerica Multifamily. Since the firm’s inception, Mr. Hochman has been a founding member of the investment committee and executive teams. He also leads TruAmerica’s capital formation strategy. With more than 23 years of experience in multifamily transactions, he provides strategic leadership and depth of industry knowledge to TruAmerica’s acquisitions team.
Under Mr. Hochman’s leadership in the areas of investor relations, capital markets and acquisitions, the company has grown from a regional player in the multifamily sector in the Western United States to a national multifamily and workforce housing market leader. Today, TruAmerica is the youngest manager in the NMHC Top 50 of multifamily owners and operators in the country.
Mr. Hochman has raised more than $4 billion in equity while at TruAmerica and has led nearly $10 billion in acquisitions and $3 billion in dispositions while growing the platform’s institutional investor base. Mr. Hochman was also instrumental in launching TruAmerica’s flagship Workforce Housing Fund series.
Mr. Hochman has gained expertise in complex deal structuring including REITs, shareholder loans and Sharia compliance. He has also led the charge in diversifying TruAmerica’s borrowing and lending relationships to include agencies, debt funds, insurance companies, banks, various lending facilities and SASB and CMBS execution.
Mr. Hochman is a recognized thought leader in the multifamily industry and has spoken at several real estate industry events including Urban Land Institute (ULI),National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE), Bisnow, Greenpearl, Realshare, IMN and many others.
Prior to joining TruAmerica, Mr. Hochman served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions at Triumph Management Company and as Vice President of Acquisitions for Granite Peak Partners.
Mr. Hochman holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UCLA and is a graduate of the Anderson Graduate School of Management Mergers & Acquisitions Program at UCLA. He is active in the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Endowment Circle. He is a member of the AFIRE and serves on the Board of Directors for the NMHC. Mr. Hochman is also a member of the Bronze Multifamily Council at the ULI and together with his wife, Naomi, is an active philanthropist in the areas of healthcare for underserved communities and higher education.
